
100 Orientation:
The purpose of this section is to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the commercial art and related fields and equip them with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for success in the industry. Through a range of learning activities, including lectures, examples, study guides, guided practices, and student resources, the students will explore the nature, scope, and diversity of the profession, the roles and responsibilities of professionals in the field, the current trends and challenges facing the industry, and the ethical and professional standards expected of commercial artists and related professionals. By the end of this section, the students will have a clear understanding of their career goals and development plan, as well as the foundational competencies and attitudes required for lifelong learning and growth in the commercial art and related fields.
Tasks:
101 - Identify career paths and occupational requirements within the profession.
Provided with multiple lectures, examples, study guides, guided practices, and student resources, the students will demonstrate an understanding of the different career paths available within the profession and the occupational requirements associated with each path to an industry portfolio level.
104 - Apply copyright laws in communication.
Provided with multiple lectures, examples, study guides, guided practices, and student resources, the students will demonstrate an understanding of basic copyright laws and how they apply to various forms of communication, such as written works, images, and audiovisual content, and will be able to apply this knowledge to create original content that respects the rights of others to an industry portfolio level.
